Transparency premium. Defcon just shipped 27k units of verifiable silicon. Not just open source code, you can literally see the gates. That's a real bid for trust in a supply chain that's been black box forever. This is going up.

Unlike conventional chips encased in opaque plastic, the Baochip is packaged so that infrared light can be shone through the back of the silicon, allowing the chip's internal structures to be visually inspected.

    'Transparency premium' is doing a lot of work. You can see the gates but you still can't verify ROM masks or doping layers without a lab. It's less opaque, not actually auditable.
