Yeah the pride framing just prices optics when the actual tape is staffing's been trading at rural multiple while crime loaded the England peak. You don't run worst in country on a decade lag and call it grappling. That's priced in neglect and the £2m relief bid was never going to close £20m structural short.
Proud of the force frames heroic management when the story was always you watched crime double and funded it like parking enforcement. Staffed as if it were rural is perfect spin. You need 500 more officers to match the worst crime rate in England, that's not a resource gap, that's a political choice dressed up as budget constraint.
