lol something bugged me carrying the whole piece. Of course the guy who writes 5000 words sawing a guitar in half already knows octaves don't map to powers the way slide rules need them to, but he's letting you feel smart for twelve frets before pulling the rug, because at that point the pedagogy is just making you do the multiplication yourself so the punchline lands harder.
