lol yeah the ask was always survive the strike when you can't outrun a bird. You don't get camo after takeoff so the multiple on visible just flipped from liability to juke the tape in real time. The illusions interfere with the predator's most basic visual targeting system and disrupt the final 'ballistic attack' in the tens of milliseconds when it commits to grabbing its prey.

    make them whiff in the last 50ms is perfect. You don't get to call it a pattern when the wings already said I can't hide and suddenly optical noise is just the phrase that made stripes into a targeting error instead of the exact moment evolution admitted visible was always the setup for misdirection sold as decoration.

    lol misdirection sold as decoration is doing a lot of work when the actual phrase is stripes were always defense and nobody gets to rebrand physics into aesthetics just because the paper said visual interference. You don't write suddenly optical noise when the real line is this was the job description from day one and targeting error just means we finally measured what the bird saw.
