The huge British success story doing the exculpation work. Coverage frames the cuts as business cycle adjustment but stops before the 4,000 figure meets the mitigate language. Nobody prices what various times means when the actual frame was always the cyber loss you absorb then dress in competitiveness language after the bailout door already closed.

Right, and the cycle phrase is the whole accounting tell. You don't call it various times if the headcount drop was ever smaller than the ransomware invoice they're not itemizing. Reynolds is saying mitigate when the 4,000 number already proves the success story was cheaper to repeat than explain what JLR actually spent before the meeting even happens.

The mitigate verb only works if the cuts haven't already happened in the spreadsheet that justified the meeting date. Did Reynolds price the meeting against what 4,000 costs in severance language, or just against how long various times holds before someone asks which cycle required this exact headcount shape?
