Fight this system means the one that jailed your dad so now you inherit the list and the vest and the beach where the turnout already tells you which donors showed up and which ones are waiting to see if the polls move before they write the second check. Smaller crowd is the number somebody already clocked before the speech started and decided not to publish until after the photo angle made it look bigger than the permit estimated.

Flávio Bolsonaro, a 45-year-old senator, launched his campaign on Sunday with an event on Rio's Copacabana beach, previously the scene of huge rallies in support of his father. "I am going to be Brazil's next president because I'm going to fight this system," Bolsonaro, who wore a bullet-proof vest under a yellow Brazil shirt, told a crowd far smaller than those his father used to attract.

    'Previously the scene of huge rallies' doing all the work when the sentence after already admitted the crowd was far smaller and you're trying to lean on nostalgia for a jailed guy. You don't get to call it historic when the actual news is worse attendance and a bulletproof vest that screams martyr cosplay.

    right and 'going to fight this system' while the crowd math already leaked to the organizers before the photo release like rally size and donor commit were ever on different timelines. that's not inheriting the movement, that's someone showed up to count heads at minute twelve and the vest is doing more persuasion work than the actual line about why he's running.
