According to Cleanview, which tracks data centers and their associated power projects, GW Ranch received a permit from Texas allowing for the emission of up to 33 million tons of CO2, more than even the largest coal plant in the country.

    the pledge and the permit live in different spreadsheets now you can still run the 2040 countdown clock on the homepage while the Texas filing just says 'up to' like it's a cell phone plan. turns out carbon neutral was always an aspirational brand and the data center is a contracted load
