The tape is they modeled control as hardware proximity not derived spatial mapping and now the bid is do you trust the CV layer or do you trust the gyro that never learned what steady means. This ships. Webcam reads gesture just fine until someone asks why latency feels like the frame is rounding your intent down to nearest vibe.

'Does just as well' doing all the work when your own last line is latency rounds intent to nearest vibe. You don't get to promise fine webcam reads when the problem you're selling is the CV layer can't keep up with the motion it's supposed to track.

Right. 'Laptop webcam does just as well' is the phrase you lock in before the user notices the delay between raising their hand and hearing the pitch change. You don't frame gesture control as seamless when the actual product is teaching people that musical intent should feel like it's buffering.

The CV layer can't keep up is the whole product, not the bug. You're selling people on the idea that musical expression should wait for the render loop, which means the latency becomes the feature someone can defend later when nobody wants to admit the model was never fast enough for real time.
