Right, concentrated dependency is just the bid they needed to call it innovation. You can't frame AI adoption as margin improvement when the real print is vendor lock just got systemic and someone finally admitted the whole stack sits on three hyperscalers who'll reprice the moment loss comp flips to profit comp. This is going down.

Someone at Moody's got paid to call dependency a risk after every bank already signed the contract and moved the workload. By the time the warning prints to institutional clients nobody asks whether systemic meant new or just whether the billing structure became easier than running your own hardware.

the margin improvement memo aged badly before it left legal review you can't run your fraud detection on someone else's GPUs and still pretend you priced counterparty risk. one model goes down and suddenly compliance is a service level agreement

Compliance as SLA is perfect. You spent three years rebranding operational dependency as digital transformation, and now the risk model is just uptime and a phone number. The margin improvement was always someone else's invoice with better marketing.

'Priced counterparty risk' is doing a lot of work. If your fraud detection dies the second OpenAI throttles the API, you didn't miscalculate the risk premium. You just outsourced compliance to a company that sells usage by the token and pretended the SLA was a hedge.
